Little Friend

Stopped for a break to eat my granola bar at the park today.
This little guy came running right over....

These critters are thick in the park. On one path through the trees
you have to be very careful because 4 or 5 may run out in front of you
all at one time.

A Little Bit Of Rain

Got a little bit of rain on Saturday,
the rain came in several lines of thunderstorms,
none of which were severe.
Had some street flooding in the area but I have
not heard of anything worse.

My muddy backyard.

4" of rain, I can hear the grass growing....

Broke down

Lost 2 1/2 hours last night when the ECM went out in the truck I was driving.
I made it 8 miles down the rode when the ENGINE light came on and I lost all power.

My view of the Haysville exit on the turnpike as I wait for a tow truck to pick me up.

My set sitting on the side of the road.

Arrow Wrecker here to hook me up and haul me away.

Riding & Refueling

Took off on the bike this morning with no plan for
how far I was going. Didn't know it would be this far.

17 miles is the farthest I have ridden, ever.

And after riding that far I needed to refuel....

Bike stand

Decided to try and build a work stand for my bike.
Had the metal in the backyard from a gate project years ago.

I see a few changes I am going to make before I paint it.

HALLOWEEN is coming!!!!

It's only 84 days till Halloween....
Started on this years new props yesterday.
This "crawler" is a shiatsu neck massager, plastic pipe,
plastic plumbers tape, a foam skull, hot glue,
an old work shirt, and some spray paint.
I still need to find at least 1 hand to finish him.

Star Wars

We went to the Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination exhibit at Exploration Place this past weekend. It had a lot of actual props from the movies to go along with some hands on science displays for the kids. North America at the Zoo

Stopped at the SCZ while out for a ride. Went to the North American area just after 8am opening. The grizzly bears were not even out yet. The black bears had just come out when I walked up, they strolled around the enclosure before settling in.

River otters must of had a very rough night.

The bald eagle sure is a majestic bird.

The mexican wolves were up and moving for a change.

The bison just looked hot in all that fur.

The prairie dog enclosure has reopened from it rehab.
It's fun to watch them when a large bird flies over and they dart for a burrow.

Cabinet is done

Took advantage of my night off and finished up the cabinet in the breezeway. I got the doors hung and drawer fronts mounted. The last step was to install the pulls.

Doors and Drawer fronts

Started painting the fronts of the doors and drawer fronts for the breezeway cabinet

102* outside and I was in jeans, a long sleeved shirt and
a stocking cap because I'm using an oil based paint
that is not fun getting out of the hair on your arms, legs or head...
