Sorry so far behind....
Sorry I'm so far behind on the blog. With the arrival of the sub-contractors came a lack of sleep. Day time workers have no respect for those of us who keep the world turning while you all sleep. Oh well, all in the interest of getting this project done. I'm on vacation this next week so maybe I will have time to get caught up with the stories of the problems with subs.... (reasons I have less hair and more wrinkles than before we started....)

Going Going Gone
What used to be the back wall of the house in
our bedroom is coming down. Shane is standing
just inside of where our south bedroom window
was as he removes sheetrock from the wall.
This is not a bad picture..... The haze is the dust
from the blow-in insulation in the attic coming
down as Shane removes the ceiling in what was
our bedroom. The back wall has been removed.

Walls Up
She Thinks I've Gone Crazy.......
Truss Delivery
Muddy Mess
of rain in one day the soft dirt around
and in the hole turned into a big mud
bath. I pumped about 6" of water out
of the hole. With the pool gone and
that area bare dirt it too is a sloppy
mess. The lumber delivery truck
got stuck in the back yard and we
had to pull it out with a 4 wheel drive.

Plan Scan

Ok, got a scan of the plan. The area where its marked walk in closet and most of the bathroom
are where our existing bedroom is. What looks
like a corner soaker tub is going to be a large
shower with 2 heads and a corner seat. Our closet now will become the closet for the front bedroom and that rooms closet and the hallway
linen closet will be removed providing added floor space in that room.

Project Overview
What Started out as a "Grand Plan" has now been reduced to a "Workable Plan". (Its always about the Money)
The Project is an 16'X20' addition which will become our new bedroom, our existing bedroom will become a bathroom and walk in closet. At the same time the linen closet in the hallway and the closet in the front bedroom will be removed and the closet in our current bedroom will be switched to the closet for the front bedroom. I would post a scan of the drawings but Windows Vista made our scanner obsolete.
To go along with the changes to the back of the house we have replaced windows on the front of the house and removed the front breezeway door. Changing out the picture window in the dining room allowed us to remove the 2 different kinds of fake stone on front of the house and will be resided with siding to match rest of house.
The crown jewel will be the bathroom. The corner Jacuzzi tub was cut from the project in favor of a large shower with seating and 2 shower heads, just not enough room for both. Oil rubbed bronze finished fixtures will look great with the golden sand ceramic tile we have picked out.
